If you're looking for a comfortable and affordable place to sleep and not expecting any amenities, this is the place for you... My son and I were headed to Carlsbad Caverns and on a whim I left Wichita KS early so we could check out "The Dalton Gang Hideout"... Of course, this put me on the road with no plan for where to sleep that night. I called several hotels and was quoted $80-$150 when all I wanted to do was sleep and move along... Finally, I called the Budget Inn (Dalhart, TX) hotel at 11:30pm and got a single (King-size) bed for $50 ($56.50 total)... Could have got a two-bed for $65... As other reviewers have mentioned, the room was dated, but the bed was firm with clean sheets (I like a firm bed and especially clean sheets). It also had a modern nice size flat screen TV and small refrigerator. We got a good nights sleep and a shower for $50... So, unless you're trying to impress a woman on your first date, this is a great deal for any weary traveler not looking for amenities...
Best price in town. Front desk made sure we had a place to park our vehicle and 6ft trailer. A little dated but they take care of this place and for Delhart, they have the best customer service in town.
This is our 2nd stay here, the first stay being 3 nights earlier. The room is easily as clean or cleaner than hotels I have stayed in that were over $200 a night. What makes this property stand out is the attentive staff. During our first stay we had requested an extra towel and 2 extra pillows. When we checked in this time this extra items were already in the room. This little motel will be our midpoint stop for any future Phoenix - Kansas City trips.

Great staff. Quick service. We came into town while it was snowing and it was nice to stop at a warm, friendly place in a town we knew nothing about. From the outside it does not look like much but it was a nice place to take a break from the drive.

Stay here 3-4 times a year for business a week at a time and get great value. Yes its a little dated but wifi is fast 6-8 movie channels and wind blows a lot so it is hard to keep rooms spotless as dust blows in any tiny crack.Friendly owners clean linens so the people that complain I would love to see their homes! Easy to post negative but my glass is always half full and they do have a great ice machine!
For full disclosure I’ve not had a stay there but a friends experience was that the staff are very kind. This is after her son left beloved stuffed animals there and the staff spent their own time and money to shop them to him.
The room itself was clean and a good value for the money. However, my review is mostly on what happened *after* our stay. My son left his two Build-a-Bear cats, that he takes everywhwre, in the room. We thought they were in the back but didn't discover they were gone until we got home. He was devastated. Given that we live five hours away and I was unable to make a 10 hour round trip back to get them, I called them. I stressed their importance and asked what our options were. It was clear they didn't often have people leave very valuable things in the room. The owner was very nice and understanding and sympathetic to the situation. It took a few days of coordination, but he was able to send them priority mail so my son didn't have to be without them too long. I was so grateful and my son was so happy. The owners are lovely people and truly went above and beyond for something that was 0% their fault.
